1) The duration of the MBBS course in India is 4.5 years followed by 1 year of compulsory internship.
2) The MBBS Course can be pursued by Indian students from India or Abroad. The basic eligibility requirement for pursuing MBBS from India or Abroad is to Qualify for the NEET UG exam.
3)Additionally, the student must pass the 10+2 exam from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology as required courses.
4) Students must achieve at least 50% in PCB for General and 40% for Reserved.

Students after completion of an Undergraduate Medical Degree can become General Physicians and can generally earn approximately 5-12 lakhs per annum.
The National Medical Commission (NMC) which is the statutory body for Medical Education in India has also introduced the National Exit Test (NEXT) which shall be operational from 2023. The students will need to successfully clear FMGE Exam. FMGE will be needed to be given by both Indian and Foreign Medical Graduates both.
