Privolzhsky Research Medical University is one of the oldest universities in Russia. It successfully provides scientific researches and educational work in the best world and Russian traditions. The educational process is based on modern principles and new trends of formation and medical development.
PRMU consists of eight faculties: faculty of general medicine, faculty of dentistry, faculty of pediatrics, faculty of preventive medicine, faculty of pharmacy, faculty of international medical education, faculty of advanced training of specialists, supplementary professional education.
It is one of the three most popular medical universities in Russia. In the rating SCImago 2022 is ahead of all Nizhny Novgorod universities, ranks 532nd out of 8084 research and educational organizations in the world.
In the National Aggregated Ranking of universities, it ranks 2nd among specialized universities and 44th among 694 universities in the country. It is included in the Forbes international rating. The Medical Faculty of PIMU began its existence 100 years ago in March 1920 as the Medical Faculty of Nizhny Novgorod State University. The medical faculty has more than 2000 students. Every year, every tenth graduate of the faculty receives a diploma with honors from the rector.
The strongest surgical, neurosurgical, oncological,schools in traumatology and orthopedics that have formed have determined the primacy of PIMU in these and other areas.
